Using Today in a SharePoint calculated column

Sometimes one can be too tricky for ones own good. Was recently talking about the workaround to name a column Today, then create a calculated column using Today, and then to delete the placeholder column. Works like a treat, but of course the Calculated column does not automatically update the calculated column unless the item changes. Now we know why they hid this feature.
